BCE Special Ceramics GmbH qualified its new ZTA material (Zirconia Toughened Alumina) successfully for medicine applications and for various highly loaded components in mechanical engineering.

With the special evaluated mix ratio ZTA obtains an optimum of strength increase compared to a pure fine-crystalline Al₂O₃, whereby the wear advantages and the insulating behavior is only minimum affected.
