For microsystems technology very delicate components with highest precision are demanded - even the auxiliary parts for manufacturing meet same requirements. Using a unique hard machining technology BCE produces accurate plunger or pusher, guides and positioning pins with an accuracy of 1 µm. Most important reason for the use of ceramics in this application area is wear resistance maintaining the highest precision for long term work. In most cases ZrO₂ is used as appropriate material realizing highly precise surface qualities with excellent ductility and bending strength. Additionally the CTE of ZrO₂ correlates with most of metallic components.
