Measuring Technology
In measuring technology specific material characteristics like paramagnetism and electrical insulating behavior paired with excellent wear resistance play an important role. Thin walled sensor caps and protection sleeves for eddy-current technology could be realized. Regarding other activities in sensor technology the insulating and dielectric characteristics of ceramics are the determining factor for efficient use. Also simple shaped components like screws, nuts, spacers and capillary tubes with electrical or thermal insulating properties are used in specific applications. Especially for optics particularly low CTE of some ceramic materials and high temperature resistance are major characteristics for the use as housing structures for optoelectronics or optical benches. Furthermore capacitive elements are used in laser application as integral part for distance measurement.
